Commercial Account Manager

Job Purpose: The Commercial Account Manager at USA Rugby will build a talented team to embark on an exciting journey of growth. As one of the first three members of the team, the Commercial Account Manager will provide the primary support, administrative and customer service function to the Commercial Department at USA Rugby. The Commercial Account Manager will assist in the day-to-day administration of USA Rugby’s Commercial Partners, Supporters and Suppliers (Accounts) to ensure they receive excellent service, with a view to renewing or expanding their existing contracts. Additionally, they will support the servicing of vendor, licensee and broadcast relationships along with the business development process to secure new Accounts.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Managing the day-to-day relationships with partners
  • Preparing Account service-related documents such as meeting agendas, reports, proposals, and other client communications and correspondence.
  • Coordinating Account fulfillment requests between USA Rugby’s Commercial, Events and Communications departments.
  • Supporting the contracting process, including documentation of terms for contracts.
  • Verifying, documenting & reporting upon fulfillment requirements for each Account including events, digital communications, broadcast, player & employee engagement initiatives.
  • Creating quarterly reports and communications for Accounts.
  • Conducting market research on target brands
  • Creation of pitch decks for perspective partners
  • Creating and/or providing feedback on RFPs & supplier quotes.
  • Fielding and processing internal and external information requests.
  • Assisting with various communications, campaigns and events.
  • Coordination of Account invoicing and payments with USA Rugby’s Finance department in a timely manner.
  • Managing on-site event marketing operations and logistics
Desired Outcomes: The desired outcome of this role is to provide world-class servicing and support to USA Rugby Partners Accounts, so that we add value that exceeds their expectations. To do this, the Account Manager will: 
  • Have a solid understanding of each client’s needs.
  • Develop and maintain a working-level understanding of assigned Account’s industries, company culture, products/services and strategy.
  • Proactively communicate with Accounts daily in a professional, efficient manner.
  • Attend to the needs of Accounts and continually seek ways to add value to their relationship with USA Rugby.

Minimum Required Education & Experience: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Sports Marketing or a related field
  • 7 years of agency or client-based sponsorship account management experience.
